Droyd’s Commitment to Safety On Electric Bikes For Kids
As parents, the last thing we want is to put our kiddos in harm’s way, so when we at Droyd designed our e-bikes, we created them with safety as our number one priority. We know it is our responsibility to create a safe, fun, and healthy option for your children to participate in. We thought about what features we would want on a bike to keep our own kids safe and we incorporated those in a variety of ways.
Adult or Parent-Controlled Speed
This means that you, as the parent, can set the speed for the Weeler electric kids bike to a pace that you believe is comfortable for your child. This is one of the reasons why Droyd e-bikes create a safer opportunity for bike riding than alternative electric bikes or electric scooters. When your child has developed more skill for e-bike riding, you can adjust the speeds as you see fit–giving you control and peace of mind.
Bright Light for Visibility
We included a bright light on the front of the bike to help illuminate the path ahead. This safety feature helps to reduce the chance of hitting a bump too deep, a curb too big, or any other bike riding related accident possibilities. The bright headlight also makes your child more visible to oncoming pedestrians and traffic.
No Chains
No problem! Our brushless motor changes the way kids ride bikes today - offering fun and safety.
More Parent Controlled Safety
We have created a safety feature regular bikes just can’t stand up to - a parent controlled ignition that requires a key to turn the e-bike on, so your kiddos can ride their bikes when you say it’s safe.
ASTM F963 Certified
This critical safety certification proves that Droyd has gone a step further to undergo performance evaluations and examinations to ensure we have provided the safest e-bike possible. That's not all! We have broken out the safety certifications for each e-bike below.
Weeler (DZ02)
- Certified test report of compliance with ASTM F963-17 ("Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Toy Safety")
Blipper (DZ01)
- Certified test report of compliance with UL2272 ("Standard for Safety for Electrical Systems for Personal E-Mobility Devices")
- Certificate of compliance with UL2272
Be Proactive
The best way we can ensure our kids are as safe as possible is to safeguard them from accidents by always wearing helmets and wrist/elbow pads. According to Rei.com, a good-fitting helmet should be snug but not annoyingly tight. It should sit level on your head (not tilted back) with the front edge one inch or less above your eyebrows so that your forehead is protected. Push the helmet from side to side and back to front.
Now that we have shared some of the safety highlights of the Weeler and the Blipper, we hope that you will feel confident in selecting a Droyd e-bike for your kiddos. When it comes to purchasing a safe electric bike for kids, check out our Amazon page here for more information.
